Trakoscan Castle is located in the northwestern region of Croatia. It was built in the 13th century, but its origins are shrouded in mystery. After years of changing ownership and eventual abandonment, Trakoscan Castle was renovated in the 19th century. The castle is now a museum open to the public. Trakoscan Castle is located in Trakoscan - Krapina-Zagorje County, a pleasant and enjoyable daytrip from Zagreb.
