Looking down at Mina (1) - July 2010
If you are looking for a traditional beach you will be disappointed here. So why recommend it? Terraced concrete steps and bathing platforms surround the bay and are surprisingly comfortable, you can choose to be in sun or under the shade of the trees, there is a freshwater shower, and best of all a lovely bay with sandy bottom ideal for children to swim and play. It felt a bit like a seawater swimming pool but is definitely the sea. Lovely views across the water.
Yes it is popular, can be busy, but there is a reason for that. The kids love it and will spend ages there. Why not buy a ball from the shops in Jelsa - our favourite ball a spikey one like a hedgehog rolled up which is great in the water. Not with kids? You might want to go elsewhere...
