Dubrovnik Synagogue

(Dubrovnik)
The Synagogue in Dubrovnik is one of the oldest in Europe and was built in 1652. Jews started to populate Dubrovnik in 1546 when a decree made by the government of Dubrovnik Republic allowed them to.
In Synagogue today you can see many relics, archive documents and Toragh which date from 13th to the 17th centuries. The Dubrovnik Jews Community, beside the Synagogue, in Dubrovnik has also small Jewish fountain at Pile and its own cemetery on Dubrovnik main cemetery Boninovo.
