Sponza Palace is one of the most beautiful palaces in the city of Dubrovnik. It was built in the 16th century and by its beauty and richness it testifies the culture and richness of old Dubrovnik people. Sponza Palace was the commercial centre of the City.

At the end of 16th century it became a cultural centre of Dubrovnik Republic. Today it houses the Dubrovnik Archives which is one of the richest in Europe. Lots of manifestations are being organized inside or in front of Sponza Palace.
