Looking for the perfect Croatia beach? You will find it here!
The Croatia beach, with 1185 islands to choose from and officially the sunniest island in Europe (click here to find out about the 2715 average hours of sunshine on Hvar - an island where the hotels refund your stay if it snows!), is a must visit for most tourists. If you are looking for info on water temperatures up and down the coast you will find it here

Beaches in Croatia vary widely and this guide will help you find the one which is perfect for you.
This Croatia beach page will be updated shortly, but to kick off, we have the top ten beaches on Hvar - a personal opinion, so let us know if you disagree/can recommend a better beach. Lucisce – our latest discovery and well kept secret. Can be accessed down a very steep path on the new road approx 3.5 k between Sv Nedjelja and Hvar. We definitely recommend a packed lunch and stamina for this one. There is very little parking at the top of the cliff. The beach is small pebbles and not very large but well worth the visit. Snorkelling is excellent and the sheer cliff backdrop is spectacular. No toilets and no refreshments. Dubovica - is another difficult climb down to a wonderful little shingle beach with restaurant and toilets. Parking at the top on the main road is available but can be virtually impossible in the July and August. Dubovica is on the road to Hvar about 2km south side of the new tunnel. Look out for bus stop layby with telephone box. Skalinada/Terra Nova – take the old tunnel through towards Zavala. As you go down the hill into Zavala you will see a turning on your right sign posted to this lovely little shingle beach. Skalinada is a very nice restaurant right beside Terra Nova cocktail bar. Snorkelling is especially good here. Vino Vitalis tee pees are also at this location if you feel like a massage or facial. Parking, but quite limited. ZAVALA – drive through the old tunnel and just keep going all the way down the hill until you come to Zavala harbour. There is a little pizza café and bar right on the beach. This is a very pretty beach with easy access to the water for children and good snorkelling too. A great Croatia beach for the family. MILNA – half way to Hvar town after you go through the new tunnel. This is quite a large beach with 2 separate bays and restaurants and bars on each. Kayaking is also available from the campsite reception. There is plenty of parking but can get very busy in July and August. Good for children with white stoney beach. There are sun beds and parasols for hire. IVAN DOLAC – after driving through the ‘Indiana’ tunnel you will come to a junction half way down the hill. Take the right turn towards Ivan Dolac. There are several accesses to the beach area here – some are very rocky with steps into the water and diving platforms or if you prefer, there is the main shingle beach. There are several restaurants or cafes. Good snorkelling around the rocks. A good Croatia beach for the family. Sv NEDJELJA – if you fancy a bit of serious rock diving then this is the place. Continue on the road after Ivan Dolic and take the sharp turn left down towards the sea. There is no beach but one or two paved areas. There are several restaurants and parking. Spectacular cliff backdrop. HVAR TOWN – as you drive down the hill into Hvar town, turn left at the bottom and follow signs for the petrol station. This road goes through a residential area. Keep to the main road and you will pass the football on your right. Stay on the road as it follows the water’s edge on your right for approx 1 mile and you will come to a lovely family beach in a little bay with ample parking, restaurants and cafes. SOLINE - Take the road to Vrboska from the main island road but when you come to Vrboska don’t turn into the village but follow the brown beach signs to Soline. You will drive through pine forest on either side and passed the FKK (nudist camp) on your left. There is a small car parking charge but lots of space to park under the trees. The beach is in front of a small holiday camp with volley ball and tennis courts and also restaurants and cafes. Soline is in a very calm little bay with a shingle beach. Good for children. CORNI PETAR - is a lovely rocky headland with no beach as such but lots of rocks to sunbathe on and exhilarating swimming. Take the road from Jelsa towards Sucuraj for about 3 miles. Go past Camp Grebisce and as you go round the camp bay, on the far side take the first left hand track on your left. You will turn right back on yourself and go down a little road towards the bay. Park somewhere here under the trees if you can for shade and then walk down under the pine trees towards a little bar/cafe. There are lots of areas where you can sunbathe or have a cold beer and listen to the music from the bar. There’s also a little diving platform. This is probably our favourite Croatia beach.
