Cheap & Chic in Zabreb - Museum Night

by Tina Miličić
(Zagreb)

And now what to do for the evening – its chic and its cheap-hell it’s free! Museum Night is the only night in year when everybody, weather they are into culture or not, has to agree that it’s COOL! And its the only night when art is awake until early morning hours – literary –museums and galleries all over the town are bursting with activates till 1am.

There is something in the air on the Museum night, a sense that the art has walked out of the museums into the streets. That this dormant and often neglected part of human nature, somehow becomes alive and people respond to it by massively participating in it.

The public transport is free, bars and cafes are allowed to work after midnight and are offering drinks for much lower prices. Free champagne, various concerts, DJs, acrobats and laser shows can be find on almost every corner of town for Zagreb has large number of museums and galleries that in-between make a vats art collection worth of seeing, specially when its offered in a cheap and chic way.

If you still aren’t convinced that art can be exciting, try 17m- high slide, one of only seven of its kind in the World, installed at Museum of contemporary art. That should definitely shake your perception of art.

So, here you are, 1am on the streets of Zagreb, and the only thing to do is to grab that free glass of champagne and toast to a day of Cheap&Chic in Zagreb under the lights of spectacular fireworks.
