A must stop in your stay on Hvar is Cafe Splendid in Jelsa, just 50m from the catamaran, but a world away from the stress of modern life. Whether it be your 6am rakija, cappuccino and croissant for elevenses, an early afternoon pint, or a relaxed glass of wine while people watching on the picturesque square, Cafe Splendid is at your service.
The square is one of the most childsafe places left on the planet and you can relax while the local kids sneak in for their free cornet from Nijaz and Lette. That is not the only sneaking though, as many a local pops in for one of the delicious piroska (cheese pie) and strudel before lunch.
With its prime location on the square, wireless internet, tasty snacks and ready supply of the cold stuff, it makes for the perfect backpacker stop, and is becoming a Couchsurfing hangout, with a free information sheet behind the bar.
And of course, with such a fine setting, where better to place the Total Croatia head office!

Our Favourite Cafe on the Pjaca!
Our first port of call when we arrive in Jelsa. Nijaz has the best latte and Lette makes the best strudel (cherry our favourite!). A great place to pass ...
