Books: Travel - Pag - Croatia Impressions

by Martin Mayhew

Title: Pag - Croatia Impressions
Author: Dario Žagar
Publisher: NAVA DLG d.o.o., Zagreb
www.croatia-impressions.com 2008
ISBN: 978-953-95830-0-0

Another superb glossy book from Dario Žagar. This one details the island of Pag, one of the Adriatic's most curious islands - half desolate rocky landscape and half lush green valleys. As with his Cres edition this is beautifully illustrated with his own colour photography and has text in Croatian, English, German, Italian, Czech and Polish languages. Pag of course is famous for its non-stop beach parties, its cheese and lace, but I'm glad to see that Dario acknowledges the existence of its most strange attraction - the Pag Triangle (Paški trokut) - a bizarre rock formation only discovered in 1999 and still unexplained. I've visited Pag a few times and after reading through this book I had the urge to head back there to explore more.
