Welcome to Total Croatia, the most comprehensive source of information about tourism, travel and living in the Pearl of the Adriatic! Whether you are looking to buy soccer jerseys in Zadar, are wondering about wheelchair access in Dubrovnik, looking for a cheap flight with the national airline (good luck!), want to learn about recipes involving vegeta, or simply want to follow news and weather in Pula, or find a map of the renowned nudist beaches on Hvar, this is the site for you!
While we aim to become your main point of reference, we also want to hear from you. We want to showcase the hidden places - small businesses both local and foreign that do not get the exposure in English that they deserve. Interested in hunting, hiking, trekking, Dalmatian cuisine, or looking to add to your wine cellar with some award winning local wines? Upload your views, photos, blogs and hidden tips for Croatia here!
But we also want to make it a fun site, rather just an information service, and so we will be doing some stories about life here, kicking off with how a family from Stoke turned a goatshed on Hvar into a family home sleeping fifteen. Comments welcome!
The Mediterranean as it once was.
While we will cover the popular territory - where to stay, nudist beaches, restaurants and ferry schedules, we also want to go beyond the stereotypes to bring you more about life here and to highlight areas where there is a paucity of information - disabled access, things to do for children, gay Croatia and an imminent section on wildlife. We will also be delving into local history and bringing you tales and sounds of historical Croatia shortly. We will be providing practical information on living in Croatia, such as how to get a residence permit, pay your electricity bill and check your property registration progress online. If there is something you need help with, contact us and we will do our best to assist.
There are numerous sites which can show you the nightlife in Hvar Town and the swanky bars in Dubrovnik and, while we will cover these sections, our focus is to feature alternative holiday options which do not receive as much coverage. How about an off-season olive-picking holiday in November, or some dry stone walling or bird-watching. Perhaps you want to learn to sail? Or learn Croatian (information on language courses will appear shortly)? We will be featuring quality accommodation away from the party towns, such as the Quaich Experience and alternative holiday options such as this great farm holiday.
An olive picking holiday package will be available shortly
The sailing section is growing daily and you can find a variety of useful information as well as being able to book your mooring online and have your onling shopping delivered to your boat when you arrive.
But above all we want to hear from you. The aim of the site is to make it as interactive as possible, allowing people to upload their own tips, experiences and views about anything related to Croatia to create the best online resource for all. You can contribute very simply by uploading your contribution here.
And be met at the airport by an English-speaking driver - off to the beach in two mins!
Huge savings in your favourite Croatian haunts, as well as back home!
